Raucous is a young adult member of Unit R who emanates a relaxed sense of ease and grace. She appears to be integrally involved in the caretaking of calves and is typically observed in close proximity to the youngest members of the social group.
We observed Raucous in 2016 swimming in the presence of two-year-old Rema as well as with her yearling calf Riot. In 2021 she was seen traveling in the midst of her social group, in tactile interaction with Rap’s new calf and the juveniles in her family.
Angular, damaged right pectoral fin, small scallop on left fin
