Drop was seen swimming with a small male calf several during several days of our 2021 field season. The calf appeared to be just under a year old based on his size, and we assume him to be Drop’s offspring. The calf was observed playing with juveniles and calves from Units A during an enduring socialization period, as well as with youngsters from Unit J several days later.
On Nov 26, 2021, he was seen swimming in tandem with his presumed mother, Drop. The following day, the spirited little male was joined by calves from Unit J who congregated to form a joyful trio who swam and played in close proximity to his mother.
Smooth pectoral fins, no facial markings
Smooth underside, no obvious markings
Two distinct bites on right fluke
