Rita is a matriarchal figure within Unit R whose last confirmed sighting was in 2015. We may have caught a glimpse of her from the surface during our 2016 field session, but the imagery is unclear and therefore the sighting is unconfirmed. She is the mother of Rosalita, whom we may have documented in 2021, as well as Rema who is a regularly observed member of Unit R.
